Service Work

As a full-time faculty member, I’m of course expected to make contributions to the campus beyond those I make in the classroom.  This is often referred to as “service work” within the academy.

Service work is an aspect of my job that I really love.  It allows me the opportunity to engage in a variety of interdisciplinary conversations, events, and groups.  It also allows me to give back to all of the students on my campus, as well as to other faculty, campus staff, and the surrounding communities by engaging in work that affects us all.

I have always engaged in a wide range of service work (see my CV for details on past work) and continue to do so.  Right now I am actively involved in the following service work:

*Member of Lane’s Diversity Council

*Member of the Cultural Competency Professional Development Committee

*Member of Social Class Cultural Competency Work Group

*Member of Gender Cultural Competency Work Group

*Member of Lane’s Assessment Team

*Member of Lane’s Writing Program Composition Committee

*Creator and leader of Lane’s ePortfolio Theory Reading Group

*Annual Division Rep for We Care Employee Fundraising Campaign

*Mentor for students

*Volunteer at a variety of campus events such as Lane Family Day
